Baseball Alberta Welcomes New Staff



Baseball Alberta is pleased to announce that Brendan Smith has accepted a position with Baseball Alberta as a Program Coordinator effective February 15, 2018. Brendan brings to Baseball Alberta over four years of experience in sports program coordination at Tennis Canada and Tennis Alberta. He was a member of the Tennis Canada team responsible for implementing the Tournament Planner software used for tournament scheduling and player rankings across the country and has continued to be the national support and training resource for this key system. Brendan is a graduate of the Sport Management program at Brock University. He will be leading Baseball Alberta's League Management activities to schedule the over 4000 games played in the leagues we manage each season as well as supporting other baseball programs to help our member Associations deliver a positive baseball experience to our nearly 18,000 baseball players across the province.

Baseball Alberta is pleased to announce that Ryan Bird has accepted a position with Baseball Alberta as a Program Coordinator effective February 12, 2018.  Ryan graduated from the Recreation and Sports Business program at the University of Waterloo and has worked for the past year as the Game Operations and Community Events Coordinator for the Peterborough Petes Hockey Club. Ryan has a great passion for baseball and played for three seasons on the Ontario Blue Jays elite travel team as well as worked as a student for the Toronto Blue Jays on their special events team.  He will be working with the Baseball Alberta staff to support our League Management activities as well as supporting other key programs that we deliver for the players, coaches, and umpires participating in baseball throughout Alberta.
